Where To Go?
We all have moments. You know the moments when something happens and our mind can’t process what has happened, why it has happened, and/or several other questions.
Non-religious people use situations to support their unbelief. For instance, they throw out the idea that because bad things happen in this world there can’t be a God.
Apparently, they believe a just and righteous God would not allow bad things to happen. He would rush right out and stop evil incidents from happening. Like Superman or the Lone Ranger, he’d stop the bad people from harming good people.
I don’t know what universe they live in, but it has been a long time since we’ve lived in the perfect world God created. The ancient story of Pandora’s Box is somewhat of a fable of Eve and her opening of the box that contained all the evils in the world.
How easy it is for us, Christians and non-Christians alike to get on the bandwagon of ‘why did/does God allow these horrendous things to happen’?
That is exactly why there is proof of the existence of a righteous God. Because we as an offspring of His righteous nature believe there should be justice against injustice. If there were no God there would be no standard of right and wrong, good and evil.
Because of health issues from last year, I’m not able to do many things I’ve been accustomed to doing and now we have been quarantined, and whatnot. I look around me and of all people Old Fuzzy and I are blessed in spite of my boohooing to God.
We retired last year, and we’re used to living on a limited income. Staying home isn’t a real problem with me, I don’t feel much like going anywhere. We are feeding only two-plus of us as opposed to the nine-plus we used to feed. One of my prayers has been, ‘May our needs be few and our wants be simple’.
I do feel compassion for those who are losing so much at this time. My prayers are for those who are suffering. As one who has studied history, times like these have happened throughout the centuries and will continue to happen until the Lord shall return.
Just today I saw a Peanuts cartoon of Lucy telling Charlie Brown, “I think everyone would be happier if they listened to God.” I agree with Lucy whole-heartedly. As people listen less to God the more trouble we all have.
There are several things people need to keep in mind. First and foremost, there is a God in heaven. Second, He will hear and judge whether people believe in Him or not;
For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God. If thou seest the oppression of the poor, and violent perverting of judgment and justice in a province, marvel not at the matter: for he that is higher than the highest regardeth; and there be higher than they.
(Ecclesiastes 5:7-8 KJV)
Jesus came the first time as a savior. He will come again this time as a judge…everyone needs to be ready for the judgment;
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
(Revelation 1:7-8 KJV)
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
(Matthew 24:42-44 KJV)
